Dear Bob:
As you know, FFLT (The Foundation for Light Therapy) conducted
a clinical demonstration in Uganda beginning in September of
2001. Gene Barnett (then CEO of FFLT) and I were present in
Uganda during this demonstration and what I saw was nothing
short of miraculous.
Let’s briefly review the history of the events that surround
this demonstration:
1.) 1999. You introduced UVBI (Ultra Violet Blood
Irradiation).
2.) 2000. Gene Barnett and I designed and produced the
prototype UVBI for FFLT named the PT200A.
3.) September 23rd, 2001. I arrived in Uganda.
4.) November, 2001 I left Uganda.
As I said above, what I saw was nothing short of miraculous.
The first patient, Amos did particularly well. He (as all the
patients) was given a combination of Oxidative treatments
which included UVBI, Organic Oxygen Compound, and Peroxide
along with a limited array of nutraceuticals. I visited with
him last, just this past December. Amos reports that he has
been sick only once since we started treatment and that was
with malaria. Prior to the initiation of his therapy, he was
continually plagued with the opportunistic infections as does
the typical AIDS patient.
Another two patients, a mother and her
daughter presented to the clinic with tumors secondary to
their HIV infection. The mother had a 2 inch tumor protruding
from her ankle. Her six year old daughter had bilateral tumors
at the angle of her lower jaw. The girl and her mother were
extremely sick. The little girl was infected at birth with HIV
and had not known a well day in her life until she began the
protocol. The tumors have gone and they are doing well. All
the people of the village where they live are in amazement.
We have documented a log factor drop in
the Viral load of one patient in only 3 weeks of treatment. A
log factor drop in viral load is considered
scientifically significant and proof of efficacy of an
antiviral agent. I could go on with more success
stories. I was only in Uganda from September until November.
All the patients had improved significantly before I left.
Unfortunately, in my absence and without my supervision and
the lack of proper funding, the proper treatment protocols
were interrupted.
With this the proper record keeping and
the success we enjoyed also came to a halt. The one major need
that we could not meet in Uganda was the proper funding to
continue our work! We had been promised the patients would pay
for blood tests and this never happened. Other promises also
never happened. There was no money available other then
what we had provided while we were there.
Since leaving Uganda in November of
2001, I have returned 3 more times, the
last for 6 months and monitored Amos personally. He is most
interested in our prompt return.
I have come to a preliminary agreement
with the JCRC (Joint Clinical Resource Centre) and Makerere
University to conduct preclinical trials for the organic
oxygen molecule. All that is lacking is the financial backing
to complete the project. Whatever you can do will be for the
benefit of all.
Sincerely,
Dr Burrus Smith
